The Lightning Thieves – Supercharged Harpsichord and Electric Fiddle
Adam Summerhayes & David Gordon: “a dramatic, riveting and even sexy listen” BBC
And here is something very different – my most recent project. It will only be our fourth performance, but everyone seems to love it so far: “This is amazing music” from the promoter of the Broadstairs Folk Week and “the concert was amazing” from the director of the London College of Music. Very different audiences but the same reaction!
Here is how we describe it:
Ancient and ultra-modern collide as David Gordon, The Hendrix of the harpsichord and Adam Summerhayes, magician of the electric fiddle create a parallel musical universe.
Celtic; Rumanian; a 12 bar blues version of a Bulgarian wedding dance; medieval pop tunes; supercharged grooves and hypnosis – all in the same gig. A crackling electric cosmos and lightning virtuoso skills – watch for spontaneous combustion.
The BBC described our last collaboration as “a dramatic, riveting and even sexy listen”. So, if you are interested in hearing something very accessible, but entirely unlike anything you have heard before, join us on October 20th at The Old Oak Inn, 176 Main Street, Horsley Woodhouse, DE7 6AW. Good music, friendly surroundings and excellent beer.
